Terms & Conditions of Use

Last updated: 2 August 2026

The conditions that govern your use of libro.org.

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms & Conditions of Use (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and LIBRO of Via Monte Napoleone, Milano, Italy (“Libro”, “the maison”, “the house”). They govern your access to and use of libro.org and the services made available through it (together, the “Site”). By using the Site you accept these Terms; if you do not accept them, do not use the Site. You must be at least eighteen years old, and able to form a binding contract, to place an order or open an account.

2. The Site and the maison

Libro is a book maison: it publishes its own Maison Editions, curates fine titles from other publishers, and — under the name Libro Private Capital — carries a platform for exploring, comparing, and understanding capital matters for owners. The Site presents both. Descriptions of books, editions, and services are given in good faith and kept accurate; the house corrects errors when it finds them and is grateful to be told of any it has missed.

3. Accounts

Parts of the Site may require an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your credentials private, and for activity under your account; tell the house promptly of any use you did not authorise. The maison may decline, suspend, or close an account where required for legal, security, or risk reasons, and will say so plainly when it does.

4. Orders and payment

The presentation of titles on the Site is an invitation to order, not an offer. An order is placed when you complete checkout and accepted when the house confirms dispatch; until then the maison may decline an order — for instance where a title has sold out or a price was displayed in error — and will refund any payment taken. Prices are stated in euro and, for delivery within the European Union, include Italian VAT; delivery outside the EU is addressed in the Customs & Duties guidance. Payment is taken at the time of order through the payment providers named at checkout. Delivery, insurance in transit, and returns are set out under Client Care, which forms part of these Terms for orders.

5. Maison Editions and curated titles

The house sells two kinds of volume, on different terms, stated on each title’s page before purchase:

  • Maison Editions — numbered editions of the house, sold with a certificate of authenticity and recorded in the edition register. They are final sale, except where a copy arrives damaged or is not as described.
  • Curated titles — volumes of other publishers chosen by the house, returnable within thirty days of delivery under the Returns & Exchanges terms.

Nothing in these Terms limits the rights you hold under mandatory consumer law, including your rights in respect of goods that are faulty or not as described.

6. Intellectual property

The Site and its contents — the LIBRO name and mark, the texts, photography, design, and software — belong to the house or its licensors. The books themselves remain the intellectual property of their authors and publishers. You may browse the Site and print or save pages for your own private use; you may not otherwise copy, reproduce, or exploit the Site’s contents, or use the house’s name or stamp, without written permission.

7. Acceptable use

Use the Site as it is meant to be used. Do not interfere with its operation, attempt to gain access you have not been given, scrape or harvest its contents or its readers’ data, misrepresent your identity, or use the Site for any unlawful purpose. Comments and other contributions must be your own, lawful, and civil; the house may remove contributions that are not.

8. Third-party links and partners

The Site links to, and presents titles and services of, third parties — publishers, carriers, payment providers, and, on the Private Capital pages, independent providers of financial products. When you engage a third party, you contract with that party under its own terms, and it — not the house — is responsible for what it provides. The maison may receive compensation from partners it presents; where it does, it says so. It does not guarantee any third party’s products, pricing, availability, or performance.

9. Libro Private Capital — what it is and is not

Libro Private Capital is a financial technology company. It is not a bank, a broker-dealer, an investment adviser, an insurer, a money transmitter, a law firm, or a tax advisor. The Private Capital pages exist to help owners explore, compare, and understand; nothing on the Site is financial, legal, tax, or investment advice, and nothing on the Site is a recommendation to buy, hold, or sell any product. Regulated products and services, where presented, are provided by appropriately licensed third parties under their own terms. Decisions about your capital are yours, and the house encourages taking them with your own advisers.

10. Disclaimers

The Site is provided as it stands and as available. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the house makes no warranty, express or implied, that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its information is complete or current — and no guarantee of any outcome, return, or result. This section does not limit the warranties owed to you on goods you purchase, which are as stated in Section 5 and under applicable law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the house is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Site. For any claim relating to an order, the house’s total liability does not exceed the price paid for the order concerned; for any other claim relating to the Site, it does not exceed €100. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law — including liability for fraud, for gross negligence, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence — and nothing deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your place of residence.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy. Disputes belong to the courts of Milano — save that, if you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your own country, and retain any mandatory protections of its law. The house prefers, and will always attempt first, the quieter route: write to it, and it will try to resolve the matter directly. The European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

13. Changes to these terms

The house revises these Terms as it and the law require, publishing the revised text on this page with a new date at its head. Changes do not apply retroactively to orders already placed. Continued use of the Site after a revision takes effect is acceptance of it; where a change is material, the house will say so more loudly than a dateline.
